Hello, and welcome to Brinksneader Mental Health Services! My name is Brooke Brinksneader and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
My social work career began
in 2005 when I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky; my education continued at the University of Louisville where I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work. I have over 15 years of experience in assessing and treating children, adolescents and adults. Prior to starting my private practice I worked in child protective services as a clinician, as an operations manager for the University of Kentucky Center on Trauma and Children, as an addictions therapist at a suboxone clinic, and as a therapist at another private practice.
My background:
“During my clinical career I have found that my passion is working with adults and I have developed specific areas of clinical interest and experience in trauma, anxiety, burnout for healthcare professionals, stress related to career, family, and relationship issues, and adjusting to transitions (college, professional career, starting a family, etc.). These problems are quite common. The good news is—you don’t have to deal with them on your own, I’m here to help you navigate and cope with the many twists and turns life brings your way.
My training in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Functional Family Therapy, The Gottman Method, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, have shaped my approach to therapy. I strive to build meaningful, genuine relationships with clients and believe this is the foundation of all therapeutic growth. I operate from a strengths-based, client-centered perspective and work to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space for clients. My goal is to help clients learn new coping skills to manage life's challenges, develop healthier thinking patterns, and improve their overall mental health. Many of my clients have stated, "I've never shared that with anyone" during sessions and I attribute their openness to my therapeutic approach in meeting clients where they are.”
